COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
INTRODUCTION
The new Effingham County Comprehensive Plan will help guide future growth and developments, set forth a community vision, as well as improve the everyday quality of life.  The Comprehensive Plan makes recommendations in the areas of economic development, land use, transportation, housing, facilities and services, natural and cultural resources, and intergovernmental coordination.

Once adopted, the Comprehensive Plan serves as a guide for elected and appointed officials to make decisions regarding land use, the provision of community facilities, priorities for public investment and the extension of county services, business development, and how to meet transportation needs.

Effingham's Comprehensive Plan is being developed in accordance with the Local Planning Requirements set forth by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.  More information about Georgia's Standards and Procedures for Local Comprehensive Planning can be found here.

The Comprehensive Plan is created in conjunction with the Effingham County Planning Department, Lott+Barber Architects, and The Coastal Georgia Regional Development Center to complete a joint plan which includes the unincorporated county and the municipalities of Guyton, Rincon and Springfield.
