Effingham County Fire / Rescue offers candidates a chance to participate in the Junior Firefighter program. This program is accepting applications from students that have reached the age of 16 years of age. The Junior Fighter Program was developed to offer training and development opportunities and to encourage participation in our regular program when participants reach the age of 18. Fire Fighting is both a dangerous and fulfilling occupation. We will not purposely expose a Junior Fighter to danger or situations of excessive danger. All Fire personnel including juniors will be covered by our insurance policy. The participants in the Junior Firefighter program will enjoy numerous training opportunities and be allowed to work in support roles during fire ground operations within the bounds of their training and at the discretion of the officer in charge.
