Effingham County Solid Waste & Recycling Center

Transfer Site Hours:

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday 8:00 A.M. till 5:30 P.M.

Transfer Site Fees:

$0.08 per Pound or $160.00 per Ton

Recyclable:

Metal, Cardboard & Batteries can be dropped off free.

Tires:

Regular Car & Light Truck Tires are $2.00 ea. off rim & $5.00 ea. on rim.

Large Truck Tires are $6.00 ea.off rim & $20.00 ea. on rim.

Tractor Tires are $15.00 each.

General Information

Curbside Recycling Program in Effingham County

Effingham County is proud to introduce our New Curbside Recycling Program to help preserve our environment, preserve landfill space, and reuse products.

Collection service started January 2, 2012 with the collection being every other week
Place all recycling material in your new Blue Cart with green lids for collection
No separation needed and bagging material is not necessary, but utilizing a clear or blue bag is acceptable
Acceptable Recycling Materials: white or colored bond paper, scratch paper, calculator tape, plain white or colored bars computer paper, telephone paper, cardboard, paper board, printed pin wheel perforation tables, aluminum cans, envelopes, bi-metal cans, junk mail, steel cans, letterhead/stationary, plastic water bottles, legal paper, liquid detergent and shampoo bottled (#1-#7), photocopy paper, newspaper, milk, water, juice plastic bottles, all glass
Materials Non-Recyclable: food or beverage waste, non-paper packing materials, vacuum cleaner bags, plastic packaging wrap, Styrofoam, and carbon paper
