What We Do

MISSION STATEMENT
Through routine maintenance and a work order system, Public Works provides for the safety of the traveling public and efficiency of the drainage infrastructure. Our maintenance functions include mowing of county roadways, grading of dirt roads, installation and repair of traffic signs, repairing roadway failures and damages, and cleaning and construction of open and closed storm water drainage culverts.
The Public Works Department's purpose is customer satisfaction by empowering our associates to partner with our customers to enhance the quality of life in Effingham County and exceed the expectations of the customers whom we serve. Our mission is to make a positive difference in the quality of life for Effingham County residents with outstanding performance in repairing and maintaining the public right-of-ways. our customer satisfaction goals are met by our conscious effort of looking for issues that can be improved upon while we are in the area.
