      We support the county's mission by providing excellent customer service to the citizens of Effingham County, as well as business professionals and other governmental entities, by uniformly administering ordinances and policies to facilitate a safe and healthy environment for future growth and land use in the unincorporated areas of Effingham County. We perform a number of  functions which include:

Special Flood Hazard Information Minimize
Effingham County flood insurance rate maps will be revised as part of the Georgia DNR's Coastal Physical Map Revision project. New flood maps for most of Effingham County will be available in draft form sometime in 2012, and final maps will be issued in 2013. Further information on this project, including status updates, can be found via the first link below.Effingham County's current digital flood insurance rate map (DFIRM) became effective on December 17, 2010. A map summarizing the special flood hazard areas is available via the last link above.
