WHAT WE DO

The duties as Clerk to the Juvenile Court are performed by the Superior Court Clerk. The Superior Court Judges also serve the Juvenile Court. Presently, Judge F. Gates Peed is serving Effingham County in the Juvenile Court. All cases involving offenders 17 years old and under are handled in Juvenile Court. This includes deprivation, unruly, traffic offenses for juveniles 16 yrs and under, felony and misdemeanor offenses.

Juveniles requesting assistance for an attorney, if qualified, may call the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit Public Defender's Office.  Their office is located in Statesboro, Georgia and they may be reached at (912) 764-6292.

TERMS OF PAYMENT

All traffic fines accessed by the Juvenile Court Judge F. Gates Peed will be paid in the Clerks' office located on the first floor of the Effingham County Judicial Complex- Suite 110

Cash, money orders, or certified bank funds are accepted. No personal checks please.
