At their September 21, 2021 meeting, the Board of Commissioners approved a moratorium on new rezoning applications for multifamily and high density single family development, in order to amend our ordinances. The County’s Development Services office will not be able to accept any new rezoning application for multifamily development in the R-3, B-2, and B-3 zoning districts, or high density single family development (R-6 zoning district) for 120 days. The moratorium is scheduled to end by January 21, 2022.
Any rezoning application for multifamily or R-6 single family development accepted before September 21 is being processed as usual. Property currently zoned R-6, R-3, B-2, and B-3 can be developed according to the zoning district permitted uses. Rezoning to B-2 or B-3 for commercial development can proceed.
